Kids Central (We Are Still Under Construction So Check Back Regularly)

"Enhancing the youth development network of Central Oregon by offering quality out-of-school time programs that are responsive to the needs of students, parents, and the community."

Who We Are

Kids Central is a new youth enrichment program that fulfills a specific need within the Central Oregon community.  It provides meaningful, challenging activities to students in 1st-8th grades during periods when they are not in school. The goal being, that in the long run, it will help kids become more informed, satisfied and productive citizens.

There is a growing body of evidence suggesting a positive correlation between frequent attendance in out of school time activities and improved outcomes in academic success.

Out-of school-time participation is associated with an increase in academic achievement, school attendance,  time spent on homework, extracurricular activities, enjoyment and effort in school, and better student behavior.

Participation is also connected with stronger self image, positive social development, and reductions in risk taking behaviors. Out-of-school time programs improve engagement in learning by helping young people build stronger relationships with adults, foster better work habits, and increase feelings of personal efficacy and higher educational aspirations.
